Castlevania: SotN on XBLA This Week
Will Alucard be able to knock those dastardly Worms off the top of the chart?
Expectations ran high immediately following the rumours last year that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was coming to the Xbox Live Arcade; they haven't flagged since. Any why not? The game has entranced fans of the series for a decade, since its debut on PSone in 1997.
Microsoft has confirmed that the game will be up on the Xbox Live Marketplace for download on Wednesday, 21 March, for 800 Microsoft Points - around £7.
This iteration has been spruced up with new widescreen graphics and those all-important Achievements. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will also be the first Xbox Live Arcade game to break through the previous 50 MB Xbox Live Arcade game ceiling, which Microsoft recently raised to 150 MB.
The limit was originally introduced so that Core system owners could still save at least one Xbox Live Arcade game on a memory card. That stipulation is dashed for now, but hope is nearly here for the hard drive-less, as Microsoft is also readying a 512 MB memory unit for release in April.
