Grand Theft Nabs Victory From GRAW
Second week lucky for Rockstar's recycled PSP game.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories didn't get much traction on the PSP last year but it's a whole different story on the PS2.
In it's first full week of release, the game jumped to the top of the weekly UK sales chart, inching past Ubisoft latest Ghost Recon game by just 200 sales, according to numbers from Chart Track.
Both Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 and Test Drive Unlimited added new platforms to their rosters this week, helping both back into the Top 10. New releases, however, weren't as successful.
Spectrobes, Disney's first stab at turning to games to create a new franchise [see our interview with the producer], started off slowly, coming in at No. 23 after its first weekend, and EA's new SSX Blur for the Wii got a similarly cold response.
The Top 10 games for the week ending 17 March, as determined by Chart Track, are below:
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (Rockstar)
- Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (Ubisoft)
- Final Fantasy XII (Square Enix)
- Sonic & The Secret Rings (Sega)
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (EA)
- Crackdown (Microsoft)
- Test Drive Unlimited (Atari)
- FIFA 07 (EA)
- The Sims 2: Seasons (EA)
- Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (Nintendo)
