Ace Combat Flies Over PS3 to Xbox 360
European release still not decided.
Over the past few years Namco Bandai's Ace Combat games have served as something of a visual high point for Sony systems, each one pushing the hardware further than the last. The next game in the series will do the same, only it'll be doing it on the Xbox 360.
Namco Bandai confirmed to GameSpot that Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation would be coming to Xbox 360 later this year. Though a PlayStation 3 version is still possible, none has been announced yet.
According to a synopsis of the game included with downloadable content already available on Xbox Live, Ace Combat 6 will go beyond the cockpit, letting you command sea and ground craft as well. The game will also include competitive and cooperative online multiplayer for the first time.
But whether the game will come to Europe is still undecided. Namco Bandai refused to comment on the game when contacted, though GameSpot reports that Namco Bandai is aiming for a worldwide release.
The announcement is another example of publishers losing faith in the beleaguered PlayStation 3, which in the past six months has lost its exclusive grip on big games such as Assassin's Creed, Virtua Fighter 5 and most recently Devil May Cry 4.
