Resistance, MotorStorm Lead Chart Attack
But the PS3's tie ratio points to aching wallets.
A new console means lots of new games on the UK charts this week but the top spot can only go to one of them - Resistance: Fall of Man (reviewed here).
Just as in the US, Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac's alternate-history alien shooter lead the PS3's charge into stores, though UK-developer MotorStorm wasn't far off.
On average, the 165,000 people who bought PS3s this week bought 1.65 games each, according to Chart Track.
Other PS3 games that did well over the weekend included Sony's new Formula 1 game and the latest Ridge Racer from Namco Bandai.
It wasn't just PS3 games that did well, though. Tapping into the Cricket World Cup running now in the West Indies, Codemasters' new Brian Lara game made it into the top 5, beating out Sega's Virtua Tennis 3, which came out on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3.
