Mario and Sonic Together at Last
Sega and Nintendo bring their mascots together for some Olympics fun.
Some games you see coming from a long way off and then there are ones like this. Sega and Nintendo announced this week that their once rival mascots will be teaming up in a new game for DS and Wii called Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
As the not-so-subtle name suggets, the game is built around next summer's Olympic Games in Beijing, China, but you won't have to wait that long to play it. Sega and Nintendo will be publishing Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games this Christmas already.
In the game, Sonic, Mario and the rest of their colourful casts will compete in real-world locations in Beijing in events such as sprinting, swimming and table tennis.
Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi and Tails are all confirmed already, and it wouldn't be at all surprising to see that roster grow bigger still.
"Now that they have been given the perfect opportunity to meet at the Olympic Games, we may finally learn who is actually faster, Mario or Sonic?," said Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
Our money's on Sonic.
