New Game Mode in Gears of War Update
But Microsoft isn't ready to say when it will be out.
Three months after the first Gears of War content update that saw new maps added to the best-selling shooter, Microsoft and Epic Games are preparing more goodies for fans.
The big draw this time will be Annex - a new game mode where players will have to hold regions on maps for certain amount of time while fending off enemies, earning points in a process. Players then fight to control as many regions as are necessary to win the match.
One of the new features in Annex will be respawning - downed players will be added back into ongoing games after a few seconds, so you won't need to watch some savant holding off the Locust on his own, keeping you on the sidelines for five minutes.
A publishing error splattered the news on the front page of the official Gears of War site, but the post was quickly pulled, according to 1UP. Microsoft confirmed to 1UP that Annex is coming, but it said that the 9 April date for the arrival of the update listed on the site was off.
Microsoft did not return calls to find out when the content would be arriving on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
