Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta Starting in May
Your first taste is around the corner, and there's a new Vidoc to keep you going until then.
Mark your calendars, Halo fans - 16 May is the day you'll get a first glimpse at the concluding chapter of the Halo trilogy due later this year.
Microsoft's Halo 3 multiplayer beta test will kick off at 1.00pm GMT on 16 May and it will run for three weeks, until 7.59am on 7 June.
The test will include three mid- and large-scale multiplayer maps - High Ground, Snowbound and Valhalla - and give Xbox 360 owners the first look at new weapons such as the Assault Rifle, Brute Spiker and Spartan Laser and the new Mongoose all-terrain vehicle.
Entry to the beta is limited to Halo 2 players who gained access through the recent Rule of Three event on Xbox Live or people who bought a specially marked copy of Microsoft's cops-'n'-robbers hit Crackdown. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is also required.
Before the beta even begins, though, Xbox 360 owners will be able to take another trip backstage to see how development on the game is progressing, in the second Halo 3 video documentary.
The feature, titled Is Quisnam Protero Damno!, is out today on the Xbox Live Marketplace and pulls back the curtain on the design of multiplayer elements in the game.
Halo 3 is due this November only on Xbox 360.
