C&C 3 Tops Turtles on Chart
EA's real-time strategy game squeaks by the half-shelled heroes in the UK.
TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is out on more platforms and has a movie in the cinemas to spur it along, but Ubisoft's game wasn't able to parlay those advantages into chart victory this week.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars sold just 592 copies more than TMNT but that was still enough to give EA's real-time strategy game a third week on top of the latest weekly ranking, according to Chart Track.
PlayStation 3 hardware sales slid for a second week despite no reports of any shortages. Software for the PS3 followed suit. Both Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm find themselves outside of the Top 10 this week.
No tears for EA, though. In addition to Command & Conquer 3, the company had another six games in the Top 20, underlining its status as the biggest publisher of games. Medal of Honor: Vanguard jumped into the Top 10 and The Sims 2 and related offshoots surged too.
