PSP Going for Cheap From May
Picking up Sony's portable will soon be a little bit easier.
Less than three weeks after trimming the price of the PSP in the US, Sony has announced that the portable is getting a price cut in the UK too.
Starting on Friday, 4 May, retailers will start selling the standalone model of the PSP at its new price of £129.99 - £20 cheaper than the previous price.
How much of a difference people will actually see is still uncertain, as several stores are already discounting the PSP.
Sony also revealed a handful of new PSP games that are joining the Platinum line-up, including: Ridge Racer 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Killzone: Liberation, Loco Roco, and Moto GP. All five games will be priced at £14.99.
In a statement, Sony's Ray Maguire said that the prospect of remotely linking the PlayStation 3 to the PSP made the portable "more relevant than ever".
The PSP has been consistently outsold by the DS, in the UK and abroad. Sony would not comment on whether this had any bearing on the decision to lower the price.
