Goodbye WWII - Call of Duty Goes Modern
Tired of World War II? So is Activision, it seems, as the company is wrenching its shooter out of the past.
After three years and more than that many instalments, Activision's Call of Duty series is stepping into the future. How far? That remains to be seen.
Several outlets are reporting that Activision has confirmed it will be showing off its latest game in the series, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, this weekend, in a commercial to be aired during the NFL draft pick in the US.
Outside of that, the company is staying quiet and spokespeople did not returns calls for further details.
The game is reported to be in development by Infinity Ward, the creators of the first two instalments in the series' main arc, something supported by a recent posting on the developer's community site that said there would be something "interesting" announced on 28 April.
