Sony Planning Heavenly Sword Taster
Is there more to the game than the arena combat Sony's been showing off for the last year?
Sony is planning to release a playable demo for its eagerly awaited PlayStation 3 action game Heavenly Sword, the company said recently.
According to an interview at PlayStation Universe with Kyle Shubel, a producer on the game based at Sony's studio in Santa Monica, a Heavenly Sword demo is coming later this year. He stopped short of giving any sort of definitive time frame for the sampler.
In the interview, Shubel confirmed that Heavenly Sword will run at 720p and at 30 frame-per-second.
For the in-game cinemas, Sony and developer Ninja Theory turned to WETA Digital, the award-winning effects house responsible for King Kong and the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
Shubel said WETA created the scenes "using technology more advanced, in more detail, with more cameras" than for those in Peter Jackson's recent movies.
One thing Heavenly Sword will not have, though, is multiplayer of any kind. "This is a single player game," Shubel said.
The team is reportedly discussing supporting Home, Sony's online service, set to debut in the autumn.
Heavenly Sword is being prepped to join the throng of games lined up for release later this year. Shubel told PlayStation Universe that the game is up for release this autumn.
