Woohoo! New Simpsons Game From EA
The cast and writers of the show are lending the developers a hand.
With Americans gearing up for the 400th episode of The Simpsons and the first movie based on the long-running series due this summer, Simpsons-mania looks to be on the rise again. EA has revealed that it's getting in on the fun, announcing a new game coming later this year.
Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa will all be playable in The Simpsons Game. According to GameSpot, the family soon picks up that they're in a video game and they use that as a chance to not only flex their imaginations by taking on new powers but poke fun at games too. Think Bartman and other video game-y characters that have appeared in the show.
Whether the concept flies or not will depend in large part on the quality of the writing, which is being handled by the same folks responsible for the show. Also making the crossing are the actors who voice the many characters in Springfield.
Scott Amos, a producer on The Simpsons Game says his team is out to make "the most original game ever". The game will be out for all platforms this autumn.
