Eidos Dates Tomb Raider, Taps Wii
Spend some quality time with Ms Croft this summer.
Hard as it is to believe, it's more than a decade since Lara Croft's adventuring hijinks made their debut on the PlayStation. This summer, Eidos will celebrate the history of the digital icon with a remake of her first game.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary retells the original story using the best of the tools the developers have built up over the past decade.
"Our goal was to capture the essence of what made the original Tomb Raider game such an incredible adventure, and use this to create a brand new Tomb Raider game," says Sean Vesce, studio manager at Lara's new handler, Crystal Dynamics.
The game is actually built on the core engine that powered last year's hit game Tomb Raider: Legend.
Nintendo fans will get to see what the fuss is about too. IGN is reporting that Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be out for the Wii, though no release details are known yet.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be out for PC and PlayStation 2 on 1 June. There's also a PSP version in the works that will be out shortly afterwards.
