Soulcalibur Slashes the Wii
The popular series comes to the Wii - but it's no fighter.
The soul still burns for Nintendo but the newly announced Soul Calibur game coming to the Wii is anything but an ordinary sequel.
Soulcalibur Legends jettisons the traditional fighting mechanics series fans have become accustomed to for hacking and slashing based around the Wii remote. The game is described by Namco Bandai as a third-person action adventure.
The story is set in the 16th century and follows Siegfried, long-serving character in the fighting games. He'll team up with other familiar and lesser-known faces in an attempt to thwart the evil forces threatening the empire.
Soulcalibur Legends is being developed only for the Wii. Namco Bandai says the game will be out this winter in the US, though the company has yet to set a date for the European release.
