Elite Beat Agents Are Go for Europe
Finally Europeans get to see whether the fuss over the rhythm game is deserved.
It may be eight months late but cult-hit DS rhythm game Elite Beat Agents (US release reviewed here) is coming to Europe.
Nintendo said on Wednesday that Elite Beat Agents would be released here in July. The game was already released last November in the US and in May in Australia. No reason was given for the delay.
The game is a spiritual successor to Japanese rhythm game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, which follows the travails of a group of male cheerleaders as they motivate people and help them through troubling times.
Elite Beat Agents, also developed by Inis, switches the cheerleaders for black-suited agents and replaces the Japanese pop songs with more familiar fare, such as soundalikes of Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.
The game is built entirely around the touch-screen interface, asking you to tap and trace out patterns in tune to the music.
Elite Beat Agents will be out only for the DS on 13 July.
