Assassin's Creed Dated for November
Not long to go now for Ubisoft's hot-looking game.
The year is only edging into summer and already the biggest games publishers are getting their end-of-year ducks in order. Joining the crescendo is Ubisoft, which has revealed launch info for its acrobatic new game Assassin's Creed.
Ubisoft said on Thursday that Assassin's Creed would be out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC worldwide this November.
Assassin's Creed is the latest game from Ubisoft's Montreal studio, home to past Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia games. It casts you as Altair, an assassin during the Third Crusade in the 12th century.
The release will bring to a close what has been a turbulent time for the game, which has been cloaked in buzz, secrecy and hype since it was stealthily unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2006.
The publisher is already thinking beyond just this game, too. Tony Key, a vice president at Ubisoft, said in a press release that Assassin's Creed "has the added prestige of being the start of this exciting new franchise".
So far there's no confirmation of sequels to come, but success this autumn would all but guarantee it.
