Forza 2 Takes the Flag in UK Race
Microsoft's racer jumps off the starting line.
Movie tie-ins at last lose their stranglehold on Britons with gear-head's workshop Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360 coming in straight at No. 1.
The game had the third best opening of any Xbox 360 game, behind only Gears of War and Pro Evolution Soccer 6, and it has been one of the fastest sellers of 2007.
Looking further down the chart, the unstoppable force that is The Sims is in full view. The latest expansion, The Sims 2: H&M Stuff, came in at No. 11, with both The Sims 2 and The Sims: Pets also placing in the Top 20.
Perhaps the most remarkable showing is by Dr Kawashima's Brain Training. Nintendo's DS non-game was released on 9 June 2006 and it's been a staple on the all-formats Top 20 for more than a year.
Buyer goodwill looks to be spilling over to the Wii, too, which is represented by three exclusives in the Top 20 this week, including another Top 5 placing for minigame compendium Wii Play.
The Top 20 games for the week ending 9 June, as determined by Chart Track, are below:
