Gears of War to Run Better, Achieve More
Update due this week brings new Achievements and gameplay improvements.
Microsoft has just the thing for Xbox 360 owners who don't know what to do now that the Halo 3 multiplayer beta has ended. The company has put out new content for shooter hit Gears of War that brings gameplay changes and more achievements.
One of the bigger change players will notice in the update, due on Thursday, is in the so-called roadie run, which lets players sprint across open spaces. The update tweaks this slightly, giving players more control of their characters as they run. Epic says the update brings some "general housekeeping" too.
The new content also includes another eight Achievements worth 250 points to the game. These are tied to the Annex gameplay mode, which is now available for free.
The Hidden Fronts map-pack will still set you back 800 points (around £7) but Microsoft has confirmed it will be going free on 3 September - if you've got the patience.
