Forza Tops Chart as Shadowrun Sinks
Microsoft's latest duo get very different receptions at retail in the UK.
The weekly UK sales charts will make for bittersweet reading for Microsoft, which has seen its new driving game soar to the top even as its equally fresh new shooter falls further and further down the rankings.
Forza Motorsport 2 is the most popular game in the UK for the second week in a row, despite sales losing a third over last week's figures. It wasn't for lack of competition either, as Codemasters injected its new rally-and-more game Colin McRae: Dirt into stores.
The other end of the chart sees Shadowrun, the new shooter in the once-RPG series, fall out of the Top 20 after just two weeks. Microsoft was hoping for big things from Shadowrun, which is the bellwether for Xbox 360-PC cross-platform play.
Movies are still serving as adequate fodder for video games. The latest cross-over from the big screen is 2K Games's Marvel movie tie-in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which debuts at No. 8.
