Hundreds of PS3 Games Due by March
And that's about evenly split between boxed and download games.
New games and lots of them are the elixir that many feel is needed to reinvigorate the PlayStation 3 and, by god, that's what Sony's going to give us.
According to a Reuters article sourcing the Japanese press, Sony is expecting nearly 400 games on the PS3 by the end of its financial year, on 31 March.
Of that 400, around 200 will be boxed games and the remaining 180 will show up as downloads on the PlayStation Store, according to reports.
The identities of the bulk of those games are still unknown. Expect plenty information next month, when Sony shows off its wares at the new-format Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
The announcement comes just as Ken Kutaragi, the man responsible for bringing the PlayStation to life at Sony in the mid-1990s, stands down. He has now been formally replaced by Kaz Hirai, who previously steered Sony's consoles in the US.
