Jason Bourne Brings Conspiracy to PS3, 360
First screens of the action hero's new game.
It's been nearly five years since Matt Damon thrust amnesiac superspy Jason Bourne onto the silver screen in 2002's The Bourne Identity. Surely releasing a tie-in game this long afterward won't work?
Perhaps that was what Sierra was worried about, because the company has revealed that not only will newly announced game The Bourne Conspiracy be based in part on the box-office smash action movie (and the book that inspired it), but there will also be original content created specifically for the game - including a look back at how the character came to be.
The Bourne Conspiracy is being developed by High Moon Studios, the outfit responsible for 2005's cowboys-'n'-vampires game Darkwatch. It's being described as a third-person espionage action game that stands alone in the Bourne canon.
There's no sign of Matt Damon being attached to the game as yet, but Sierra, which is publishing the game, will be showing off The Bourne Conspiracy in Los Angeles next month during the new-format Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The Bourne Conspiracy will be out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in summer 2008.
