Rainbow Six Vegas Map Gaffe
Did you pay for the Black maps? If so, Ubisoft owes you some money.
Last week Microsoft put on its online store new maps for Ubisoft's popular shooter Rainbow Six Vegas, at a cost of 800 points. Turns out the maps were supposed to be free, and Ubisoft is now scurrying to make amends for the gaffe.
The Player's Pack: Black Edition, as its officially known, includes five maps, including three new ones, a rejigged version of map Streets, and an updated version of Rainbow Six 3 map Presidio.
After being taken down to have its price fixed, the map pack is available again, now for free, from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Ubisoft apologized for the error and said that everyone who paid the 800 points would have their points refunded, within the next 10 weeks.
As a gesture of goodwill, the company also made available for free the Player's Pack: Red Edition that came out in April and that included new maps and gameplay modes.
