First-person RPG Dark Messiah charms 360
Ubisoft's Source-powered FPRPG brings a new multiplayer mode to the Xbox 360. First screens.
PC owners were divided in their feelings for Ubisoft's first-person RPG Dark Messiah of Might & Magic last year. Will the game suffer the same fate on the Xbox 360?
Ubisoft confirmed on Tuesday that the game will arrive as Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Elements on Microsoft's console during the first quarter of 2008.
While it appears that it will be largely the same game, there will be a few additions to the Xbox 360 version - most obviously a new 10-player multiplayer mode created by the Ubisoft Annecy team responsible for the online modes for the Splinter Cell series.
The gameplay has been tweaked too. The Half-Life 2-derived Source engine is still powering affairs but there's now a new lock-on system, and the controls have been gussied up to better suit the Xbox 360 controller. The game also comes with extra levels not included in last year's PC release.
