Silent Hill V Promises Scares, More Control
First screens and details for Konami's spooky new game.
People are buzzing about the brief clips of Resident Evil 5 shown this week at the E3 Media & Business Summit, but Konami wants to make sure that people don't forget about its own shocking series, Silent Hill.
The latest chapter, simply titled Silent Hill V for now, is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Konami hasn't yet said anything about a release date, suggesting the game won't be out until next year at the earliest.
The titular burg is once again the star of the game, but it's got a partner this time. You play as Alex Shepherd, a soldier back from wars abroad after he gets news that his younger brother Joshua has gone missing. That leads him to a small town called Shepherd's Glen and then it's on to Silent Hill.
Early screenshots hint at the "haunting atmosphere" Konami's Brian Christian tells fans they can expect. The team has apparently also upped the action, giving you more control over the flow of game.
One mainstay series fans can depend on is Akira Yamaoka, who returns to the Silent Hill series with a new soundtrack in mind.
