Rock Band Scoops Up E3 Awards
And the Xbox 360 grabs the most wins. Full winners list.
It may not be the Oscars, but if you're a fan of video games, the Game Critics Awards aren't far off. Thirty-six media outlets from across the US got together to pick the best of the recent E3 Media & Business Summit and the winner was clear: Rock Band.
EA's music game, developed by Guitar Hero creators Harmonix, went home with not only the Best of Show award but also nods for Best Hardware/Peripheral for its many instruments and Best Social/Casual/Puzzle game.
Rock Band's raucous showing helped EA to six wins in total, putting it well ahead of next-best publisher, Microsoft. But the hardware giant can take solace in the 11 wins racked up by its console, three more than the 8 wins by PlayStation 3 games.
Below is a rundown of all the winners. For a full list of the nominees, visit the Game Critics Awards page.
