Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Imminent
No hard feelings to Treyarch, IW tells us.
There's little doubt that Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was one of the most visually stunning games to be shown at the recent E3 event in California. With its moody visual style and superb animation, the sequel and its silky smooth visuals have already impressed gamers.
Now, the creators at Infinity Ward are nearing the end of the game's lengthy development process and a date has been set for release - 9th November in the UK, for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
As the Modern Warfare subtitle suggests, the fourth in the series is finally abandoning the tired World War II setting in favour of a bang-up-to-date world of hi-tech military goings-on - a move that promises to reinvigorate Call of Duty in a big way.
While the third game handed over development duties to Treyarch, Modern Warfare had been planned the whole time back at the original series creator, Infinity Ward.
Talking exclusively to Kikizo recently, Infinity Ward's producer working on the game denied that there was any hard feeling towards the less well-received third game or its developer, stating: "The community knows they are two different companies that make two different styles of game; we make our cake our shape, and they make their cake their shape."
