Skate Demo Grinds (Slowly) onto Live
Watch out, Tony! EA's got a competitor headed your way.
For the better part of the last decade Tony Hawk and his eponymous skateboarding series have ruled the extreme game genre. Now EA, much like it's doing in the music game arena with Rock Band, is taking the fight straight to the incumbent.
Skate is EA's new take on virtual skateboarding with an approach quite different to what Tony Hawk series fans are used to. Don't take our word for it though. There's a demo for the game up now on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The slow-to-download (for us at least) 1.1 GB demo is a taster of what you can expect from the full release on 21 September, including a glimpse at the Flickit trick system. PlayStation 3 owners aren't being left behind and will be able to pick up the game on 12 October.
The demo is actually nearly a week late. Not long ago EA promised that Xbox 360 owners would be able to pick up the demo on 15 August already.
