Rock Band European Tour Delayed to '08
The rumours were true. But there's good news if you're a PlayStation 2 owner. New songs revealed too.
There were rumours earlier this month that Rock Band, EA's take on the rapidly rising music genre, would be delayed in Europe. That has now been confirmed. But it's not all bad news.
While Americans will be able to drum, strum and sing along to their favourite rock acts from 20 November, Europeans will need to wait until early 2008.
But there's good news if you're a PlayStation 2 owner. In the US, the game is coming out only (so far, at least) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but Europeans will also be able to pick up a PS2 version.
According to EA, this new edition of the game will have most of the same stuff found in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions and there will also be extra, as yet unspecified exclusive content too.
EA also swelled Rock Band's track listing to 26, revealing new additions by The Rolling Stones, The Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead. The company is planning to fine-tune the game to European tastes, a move MTV's Eric Yapp called "imperative".
