Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Due by Year's End
Expect online modes, dozens of cars and more. And that's just the teaser.
Last year's downloadable PS3 game Gran Turismo HD Concept was just a glimpse of what is possible with Gran Turismo series on Sony's new hardware. Later this year, PS3 owners will get a much better idea of what to expect from the next full entry in the popular racer in a new Prologue game.
The good news is that online racing will definitely be included in Gran Turismo 5 and it will also be in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, as a 16-player online mode.
Like Gran Turismo 4 Prologue before it, this PS3 teaser is mostly concerned with giving you a feel for the game. It will include 40 cars from Nissan, Ferrari, Lotus and others and at least three tracks: Eiger Nordwand, the London City Track and Suzuka.
In addition to new physics and opponent AI, Sony's technological add-ons include online dealerships, where you can get all the information on cars you need, and Gran Turismo TV, which will include various motorsport programming.
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will be out on both Blu-ray and as a PlayStation Network later this year. The full game is due sometime in 2008.
