Sony Delays God of War PSP
Don't expect the bald badass to return until next spring.
Sony is giving the PSP another concerted push this Christmas, with the new slim PSP arriving this month in the UK. One game many would have hoped to play soon on their new systems is God of War: Chains of Olympus, but it seems Sony has decided to keep that one in the oven a while longer.
Speaking to US site GameSpot, developer Ready At Dawn said that the game would bypass this holiday season and would instead be coming out next spring.
Chains of Olympus, a prequel to the first God of War game on PlayStation 2, will be put out on 4 March in the US. Sony hasn't yet said when it will be out in Europe, but it's a fair bet that it won't be long afterwards.
In the US, PSP owners will be offered a preview of the game in a demo UMD that will come with not only a sampling of the gameplay we can expect in the final game but also a look at how it's being made.
Sony has not said whether it will release the UMD demo outside of the US and did not respond to queries.
The slippage comes at a time when the PSP is hitting a low in the UK. Pushed down by people waiting to pick up the new model of the portable, PSP sales in the UK hit their lowest point ever in early September, according to an MCV report.
