Ninja Gaiden II Confirmed, Exclusive to 360
First, bloody screens of Tomonobu Itagaki's new action game, coming only to Microsoft's console.
Team Ninja's Tomonobu Itagaki isn't known for taking it easy on players but he is showing that he can be loyal. The creator of successful Xbox actioner Ninja Gaiden has announced that he's sticking with Microsoft again, bringing the sequel to the popular game only to the Xbox 360.
The announcement of Ninja Gaiden II came at Microsoft's press briefing in Tokyo on Wednesday, ahead of next week's Tokyo Game Show.
Specifics are sparse but from early information we know that you'll again play as master ninja Ryu Hayabusa as you "avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race".
More interesting than the placeholder story synopsis is the decision to bring the game exclusively to the Xbox 360. Just this summer publisher Tecmo was flirting with Sony, releasing Ninja Gaiden Sigma - an HD take on the original Ninja Gaiden - on the PlayStation 3.
According to a report at Wired, Ninja Gaiden II is already well into development, and Itagaki said at the press briefing that several stages were ready to be shown.
He also said that Ninja Gaiden 2 would be out for Xbox 360 worldwide next year.
