No More Heroes Coming to the West
Ubisoft picks up No More Heroes for release in the US.
With games like Killer 7 and Contact under his stylish leather belt, Goichi Suda, better known in the games community as Suda 51, has made a name for himself as someone with flair. No More Heroes, his first game for the Wii, is no different, and now it's coming to the West.
For inspiration for Travis Touchdown, the star of the new Wii-exclusive action game No More Heroes, Suda looked to Jackass star Johnny Knoxville and UFC fighter Josh Barnett, which should start to give an idea of the sort of game Suda's Grasshopper studio is working on.
Travis is a killer who is forced to kill, driven by necessity to take down 10 other assassins. The story is the hook, but the real draws are the stylized graphics and gameplay that allows you to slice people in half and smash people to the ground UFC-style, all using the motion sensors of the Wii remote.
No More Heroes has for some time been confirmed for release in Japan before the end of the year and recently Ubisoft said that it would be releasing the game in the US. That opens the door to a European release, but neither Ubisoft nor Nintendo has yet said anything definite on the matter.
