Sega Confirms Samba de Amigo for Wii
The maracca-wielding monkey is soon to be reborn on Nintendo's console.
Ask Dreamcast owners about their favourite games for the console and it's a fair bet that many of them would mention Samba de Amigo, Sega's simiam-starring maracca-shaking game. Samba de Amigo has been in limbo for some time but redemption is at hand, as Sega has revealed it's bringing the game to the Wii.
Late last week there were rumours out of Nintendo Power magazine in the US that Sega was working on a version of the game for the Wii. The company has since confirmed the rumours to 1UP.
Probably the biggest surprise of the announcement is the identity of the developer.
For the Wii version of Samba de Amigo, Sega is turning not to its in-house team that created the arcade and Dreamcast originals but rather to Gearbox Software, a developer better known for its Brothers in Arms World War II games.
Sega hasn't yet given out any more details but a full announcement is due soon.
