Microsoft Replacing Scratched Halo 3 Discs
Quick response to packaging problems. Just beware that turnaround time.
The wait for Halo 3 has finally ended and millions of Xbox 360 owners around the world are taking delivery of Master Chief's last chapter in the current trilogy. But not everyone is happy.
Several reports this week said that people who ordered the Limited Edition version of the game are getting stuck with scratched discs due to bad packaging. On Wednesday Microsoft acknowledged that some people are seeing "blemishes" in a small fraction of copies and said it plans to set things right.
"We are currently investigating the scope of this situation and notwithstanding the outcome of the investigation, we have implemented a plan to address it. We encourage anyone experiencing these issues to go to xbox.com/support and click on the Halo 3 Limited Edition disc replacement link. We will be replacing these discs and apologize for the inconvenience," reads a statement on the Xbox site.
The exchange program will run until the end of the year. Microsoft has advised that you'll be looking at about two weeks of turnaround time in the US and about 4-6 weeks in the UK.
