Ubisoft's New High-Tech Air Combat Game
The creators of Blazing Angels look to the future.
Ubisoft already has the World War II-based Blazing Angels franchise under its wing but the publisher has revealed that it's taking to the air again in a new game set in the conflict-filled world of Tom Clancy.
Specifics for the as-yet-unnamed air combat game are still scarce but Ubisoft has at least given out some details for the story. The game is set in the near future and follows the a skirmish between the US and a rising and powerful private army, pitting high-tech fighters against each other.
The game, which is being developed at the same Bucharest studio responsible for Blazing Angels, is part of Ubisoft's push to create new games both in- and outside its core franchises.
Recently the company revealed EndWar, another near-future game set during World War III in the year 2020. Ubisoft has not said if there is any link between the two games.
Ubisoft's unnamed Tom Clancy flight game will be out for PC and consoles in 2008.
