EA's Rock Band Cheaper Than Expected
Harmonix confirms launch price for the US.
How much we'll be paying for the full version of Rock Band is still undecided but thanks to developer Harmonix's confirmation of the US price, we have a better idea.
In the US, the Rock Band Special Edition, which includes a drumkit, a wired (Xbox 360) or a wireless (PS3) guitar, and a microphone, will sell for $170 (around £85), according to GameSpot. To compare, PS3 and Xbox 360 games on average sell for $60 (£30) in the US.
The $170 retail price is considerably cheaper than the $200 that had been rumoured earlier in the year year. According to GameSpot, this is in the middle of the $150-200 range EA had used in its canvass of would-be buyers.
Rock Band will be out in the US on 23 November, but Europeans are going to have to wait until the early months of 2008 to unleash their sonic fury. EA has not said exactly how much the game will cost outside of the US and did not returns calls for clarification.
