FIFA 08 Kicks Halo Down the Chart
Master Chief's game sells way less this week, leaving the door open for EA.
Last week more than a third of all Xbox 360 owners in the UK bought a copy of Halo 3, so perhaps it's understandable then that sales for the game were way down this week.
Halo 3 sales dropped by nearly 80 per cent, according to research group Chart Track, and that was enough to let EA's FIFA 08 in for the kill. A glance at the individual platform charts shows the publishing behemoth's new football game taking up four of the top five spots, with the PlayStation 2 edition being the most popular.
Elsewhere it was business as usual for the most part. There were no big-name releases this week and those games that did come out didn't trouble the frontrunners.
Don't be surprised if rat-tastic movie tie-in Ratatouille jumps further up the charts next week. The new Pixar flick is earning gushing reviews and that's sure to help the already surging game make up a few more places.
The Top 20 games for the week ending 6 October, as determined by Chart Track, are below:
- FIFA 08 (EA)
- Halo 3 (Microsoft)
- Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights (THQ)
