First Halo 3 Maps Coming, Says Bungie
Three new maps already being tested.
Bungie and Microsoft have recently announced that they're going their separate ways but that doesn't mean work has stopped on Halo 3. The developer said in a blog post on Friday that it's toiling away on the first downloadable content for the game, content that is set to include three extra multiplayer locales.
Writing on Bungie's site, Frank O'Connor said that "work is progressing on new maps for future downloadable content, with the design and art teams vigorously engaged in the process".
One of the maps, which O'Connor has dubbed Jodrell Bank, seems geared towards the free-for-all Slayer game mode, while another, Moonbase Alpha, is skewed towards team-based play. The third, a big, dark, frightening location, he describes as the "the scariest map of all time".
So far, neither Microsoft nor Bungie has said exactly when we can expect this first content download but internal teams are already testing them, so it's likely won't be too long.
