PS3 Games Rise But FIFA Still Tops
Plus Project Gotham Racing 4 makes a strong debut.
The best selling single game last week was not FIFA 08, as the list below suggests, but rather Project Gotham Racing 4. But it's thanks to EA's decision to release FIFA 08 on just about every device capable of playing games that the football game finds itself above the Xbox 360-exclusive racer on the All Formats chart.
The real story, however, could be going on below the top ranks. Several PlayStation 3 games are on a charge, being helped along by not only the release of the cheaper 40 GB model of the system but also, according to Chart Track, extensive bundling by retailers that included Sony's own games with the system.
The result - three PS3 exclusives in the Top 20 with the best one, Resistance: Fall of Man, being the fifth-best selling individual game for the week. Other games moving up include MotorStorm and actioner Heavenly Sword.
Another steady riser on the chart is Ratatouille, THQ's take on Pixar's new movie. The game has been floating further down and was boosted by the release of the movie on Friday.
The Top 20 games across all formats for the week ending 13 October, as determined by Chart Track, are below:

- Project Gotham Racing 4 (Microsoft)
- Halo 3 (Microsoft)
