Jack Black, Tim Schafer on Brütal Legend
First details for the Psychonauts creator's rocktastic new game starring Black.
With classics like Full Throttle and Psychonauts to his name, Double Fine's Tim Schafer has built quite a reputation for himself. Now the forum-friendly creator is teaming up with rock renaissance man Jack Black on a new game called Brütal Legend.
Looking like the lovechild of a Boris Vallejo painting and Black's forays in the world of movies and music, Brütal Legend is steeped in music, comedy and rock.
Black stars in the game as Roadie Eddie Riggs - a moniker no doubt inspired by Iron Maiden mascot Eddie and long-time cover artist Derek Riggs - in a "surreal ode to the mythology of rock and roll", according to US magazine Game Informer, which has an exclusive first-look at the game in its new issue.
A trailer for the game on GameVideos shows a cartoon-style Eddie Riggs slashing his way through armies of enemies with screeching metal playing in the background.
It's a hint of things to come, but we won't know the full extent of what's in store for us until Double Fine makes a full announcement, probably later this month.
