Guitar Hero III in Time for Christmas
Not long now until the big game arrives.
Rockvember doesn't have quite the ring of its month-younger sibling but it's still an apt description for a month that will play host to the debut of the next instalment in the biggest music series around.
After months of dripping out lists of songs, both by original and cover artists, and of big-name musicians appearing in the game, Activision has at last intimated a release date for Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock in Europe - 23 November.
On that day, no matter which of the new systems you have, you'll be able to sample the latest in the ear-splitting series, when Guitar Hero III arrives for Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.
In addition to appearances by Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash, Poison singer Brett Michaels and ex-Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, the game will also feature online guitar battles.
Guitar Hero III also marks a change behind the scenes. With series creator Harmonix off developing Rock Band for EA, Activision has handed creative duties to Tony Hawk developer Neversoft.
