Capcom Promises Arcade-Perfect Street Fighter II HD
Plus the company shows off some near-final shots of the game in action.
Street Fighter II is more than 15 years old and still the game is one of the most popular with fighting game fans. Capcom is readying a high-definition remake of the game for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, a version it says will play just like the original arcade game.
In a post on Capcom's blog, Rey Jimenez writes that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be based on the code used for the Dreamcast remake of the game, which was itself nearly identical to the arcade. This decision was made because the code was easier to work with and already had some networking code included.
Rey writes that any changes made to the game for the Dreamcast version are being reverted and the team is making fine adjustments too.
"While it is true we are basing the code off of the DC version," he says, "the end result will play arcade perfect."
