Angry Fans Get Forza DLC Changes
New track out today not as dear as it might have been.
Japan's Twin Ring Motegi race track, situated just outside Tokyo, is described as a fusion of human, nature, and mobility. Xbox 360 owners have another term for it: rip-off.
Motegi is soon to be offered to Forza Motorsport 2 owners as a paid-for download, but when Microsoft revealed recently that it was planning to charge 600 Microsoft Points (slightly more than £5) for it, fans balked. After taking flack from its fanbase on the Forza forums, the company has rethought its strategy.
In a post on the forum on Thursday, Forza developer Turn 10 community manager Che Chou said that, after talks with the team's marketing department, the decision was made to lower the price to 400 Microsoft Points, or around £3.40.
Chou said the track was not being looked at as a money maker for the company, "it's more of a way to keep the community engaged in your game. We wanted to make sure that we keep our eye on that goal."
Forza Motorsport 2 was released over the summer for the Xbox 360 and topped the All Formats UK chart for its first three weeks.
Twin Ring Motegi will be available for download from Friday.
