Alone in the Dark Grips Wii, PS2
Atari taps more platforms for scares.
Executives at Atari will have been suffering sleepless nights in the last month, as the company has recently revealed that it's having serious financial problems. Games, however, are still top of the agenda, and one of the company's next ones, Alone in the Dark, is getting an even wider release than first thought.
Atari said on Tuesday that Alone in the Dark would also be coming to Wii and PlayStation 2. Until now the company had only mentioned versions of the game for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Alone in the Dark is the next sequel to the cult-hit PC original. It again stars Edward Carnby, but the developers at French game shop Hydravision have swapped out the 1920's Louisiana setting for something more contemporary, based in New York.
Atari said that the Wii and PS2 versions were developed in parallel, meaning the decision was not a recent one.
