Brash Game for Action Flick Jumper
New studio working on videogame spin-off of next year's Hayden Christensen-starring movie.
Borne of the mind of sci-fi author Steven Gould, Jumper is a story about mutant humans given the ability to teleport to faraway places in an instant. There's a movie based on the book coming out in February, and new game house Brash Entertainment has been tapped to create the spin-off game.
Rather than retelling the story of the fiim, which follows a jumper named Davey, played by Star Wars' Hayden Christensen, Jumper the game switches characters and tracks the events in the life of a young jumper named Griffin, portrayed on screen by Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell.
The game, which is being published by Eidos right around the release of the movie, deals with Griffin and his battles against the anti-Jumper Paladin organisation, headed in the movie by Samuel L. Jackson. Teleportation is of course the main draw, and Brash is building a combo-based action game around it.
Jumper will be out in the US in the same week as the movie, which opens worldwide on 14/15 February. Eidos has yet to confirm a European release date.
