Pay for them then, or get them free later.
Halo 3 is by far the most popular game on Xbox Live these days, and newly freed developer Bungie is going to make sure it stays that way. As part of that, the company has announced that it is working on three new maps for the game.
Bungie said today that the Heroic Map Pack, which contains three new multiplayer maps, would be released for 800 Microsoft Points (around £7) through Xbox Live on 11 December.
First of the three is Standoff, a symmetrical map with "entrenched bases and fields of boulders" built with the Slayer game type in mind. Rat's Nest, meanwhile, is a larger scale affair, inspired by the singleplayer mode and built with vehicle-based battles in mind. Then there's Foundry, which Bungie describes as the ultimate Forge map thanks to plenty of option for modification.
Xbox 360 owners will be able to buy the maps in December of wait until spring 2008, when they'll become available for free.
