Unreal Tournament III PS3 Is Done
But the game will only be out this year in the US. Sorry Europe.
PlayStation 3 owners looking forward to Unreal Tournament III likely assumed the worst when publisher Midway starting talking about the game missing its release date this year. Developer Epic has confirmed that the game will make it to stores, but only in the US.
In a post on the Unreal Tournament forums, Epic's Mark Rein said the game was done and had been sent to the manufacturing plant, with a release date announcement coming soon. But the job of getting the game in shape for its European release is still going, meaning a 2007 release here isn't going to happen.
"For PAL territories, specifically UK and Europe, we have a few localization-related tasks to complete and then we should be starting the certification process pretty soon," Rein wrote in a post on the forum.
"My best guess is early next year (January or February) for the game to ship over there."
Unreal Tournament III is the latest game in the frenetic shooter series. The game is out for PC this week and there is an Xbox 360 version coming sometime after the PS3 version as well.
