No More (Bloody) Heroes for the UK
Rising Star Games reportedly decides against bringing the violent version to the UK.
Killer 7 creator Goichi Suda has experienced enough pressure in Japan to convince him to tone down the violence in his new Wii game. Now it seems that something similar is happening in Europe.
GamesRadar reports that the European version of No More Heroes, the bloody new Wii action game from Grasshopper Manufacture, will find its parentage in the cleaned-up Japanese version of the game rather than the soaked American edition.
Why the shift away from the violent version? Representatives for local publisher Rising Star Games told GamesRadar that the recent negative attention surrounding Rockstar's Manhunt 2, which was twice rejected by the British Board For Film Classification, "maybe" had an influence on the decision.
The BBFC's Sue Clark said the ratings body has not had any direct contact with Rising Star Games related to No More Heroes.
We contacted Rising Star Games to clarify the situation but the company did not get back to us.
No More Heroes will be out for the Wii in February.
