Mario and Sonic Finish First in the UK
The big man on campus tops a Nintendo-riddled chart.
There is only one week to go until we find out which game will be this year's Christmas No. 1, and if the last few weeks are any indication we could be in for an upset this year
For the second week running, the most popular game in the UK was Sega and Nintendo's mascot mash-up Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Though it's only leading by a nose.
Just 2,500 sales separate the top three on the list, according to the latest numbers from Chart Track, and Need for Speed, the Christmas champion in two of the last four years, isn't far off either.
The picture looks even better for Nintendo if you consider each system individually. Not only is Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the Wii the most popular individual game out now, but there are another six Nintendo games in the Top 10, including the Brain games, Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Party 8.
The Top 20 games across all formats for the week ending 15 December, as determined by Chart Track, are below:

- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision)
- FIFA 08 (EA)
- Need for Speed: ProStreet (EA)
- The Simpsons Game (EA)
