Final Fantasy VII Prequel Due This Spring
The final game in Compilation for Final Fantasy VII isn't far off now.
It's been more than 10 years since Square released Final Fantasy VII on the PlayStation and fans have been clamouring for more ever since. Now they're getting it. Sort of.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is one of a suite of satellite games related to Final Fantasy VII that Square Enix has been releasing over the past few years under the name Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.
In this PSP game, the last of the announced spin-offs, players delve into the past of Zack, a soldier who served alongside Final Fantasy VII lead character Cloud in the military outfit of the Shinra Corporation known as SOLDIER.
The story picks up seven years before the events in the PlayStation classic and follows Zack as he tries to find out why a large contingent of SOLDIER personnel went missing during an operation. Along the way players will bump into some of the key characters in the Final Fantasy VII canon, including Genesis, Sephiroth and many more familiar faces from the original game.
Crisis Core was released in Japan in September and sold around half a million copies in its first week, including a special edition PSP.
The game will be out in the US in March and across Europe during spring.
